The value of human life

Friday, 3 July 2009

The following angry articles at Juliette's and the humble devil's oblige me to rant about our western government courts and the 'justice' that they mete out.

They're discussing a big American thief and some typically British everyday down-home child rapists, torturers and child-murderers.

Aren't we Tories and the libertarians supposed to be money-grubbing parasites who know the price of everything and the value of nothing?

Don't get me started on how exactly wrong that cliche is.

And yet America's liberal courts sentence a thief to almost twice the biblical age of a man for stealing a lot of money while ours make some mass rapists and child murderers will miss the opportunity of attending fewer than three Olympic opening ceremonies.

You'd almost think it's the State that had problems working out the value of human life, and not us capitalist exploiters.

They should take a lesson from International Rescue.

Jeff Tracy once explained to his sons Scott and Virgil that it was the Thunderbirds' mission to save lives. Other things can be replaced, but people can't.

Thank, o Lord.

John M Ward; too true. Funny how we are the ones who point it out.
