Islam And Women

Does this sum up Islam's attitude to women? Particularly poignant I feel in light of today's comments from the Lib Dem's Ed Davey about having 'tea with the Taliban'...

Sorry, but wtf? Does he have a mother or was he grown in a test tube? Maybe he should take her over to Afghanistan for 'tea with the Taliban' and see what happens...

Although I have no personal interest in "the female form", it is obvious that we were created the way we are for very good reasons. Our physical form is covered only for protection from the elements and accidents, really.

The gender-discriminatory cover-all idea is just so daft, that it tells us far more about the attitudes of those who feels there is a valid reason for this imposition than it ever can about the real world — the rest of which goes marching on without apparent problems.

We certainly don't have the issues that some parts of the world and of society have. We might not be perfect, but in general we are orders of magnitude better-functioning societies than the repressives can ever be, by definition.

We are far more mature.

Maybe because the "Men of Islam" cannot control their "animalistic" instincts.
