Quite frankly who gives a shit anymore. There is no one left to challenge the European Parliament of its oh so many vices. They will just linger on believing that they are only producing virtues.
Politicians... the lower echelons of Dante's inferno.
One good thing might come out of this. That debate on the EU that the politicos have been avoiding for decades will finally be firmly on the table.
I'm surprised they didn't see it coming. How can they possibly have expected us to let our sovereignty be sold to an unfriendly, anti-democratic foreign power without a whimper?

Mr Hannan's statement was interestingly worded. Read one way, it implied he was resigning to act as a focal point for dissent.
5 November 2009 at 11:40I hope so. If anyone could unseat that smug popinjay Cameron, Hannan could.
Short of repatriating himself and winning a seat as an Independent Conservative I don't see what Mr Hannan hopes to do next.
