I went along shortly after 10am. Brown was making his usual public display of piety, attending the local parish church. The police and Sky News were hanging around outside.
9 May 2010 at 11:43I walked up to his house, about 300 yards walk. It's not quite the fortress that Blair's (supposed) home was. Tried to put the card through the letterbox on the garden gate.
A pleasant police officer said that unfortunately they couldn't take deliveries by hand and it should go in the post. So I stuck it in the post. All very polite.
Brown's off to London now. I think he will stand down within the next 36 hours, and that he went home to think it through and avoid press attention.
Bravo mate.
