Immigration's Smoking Gun

That's how The Sunday Times describes the latest immigration revelations — via enforced disclosure of documents that Labour ministers had kept out of the public eye until the Information Commissioner compelled the Home Office to release them into the public domain.

It's a long article, covering three medium-length pages, but it couldn't have been shortened by much (there is little repetition and excessive wording) and makes for very powerful reading. Although it doesn't exactly match the recent Neather revelations, there is a lot in common in terms of how the subject of immigration has been handled under Labour, even if motivation isn't stated to be the same.

Essentially, from the article, there was — as always in the Immigration and Nationality Directorate — a large backlog of applications waiting to be decided. Although the junior minister at the time initially said that fast-tracking this without making the usual checks "flew in the face of common sense", the same minister (Beverley Hughes) did shortly after agree and indeed insist on quickly clearing the backlog. This goes back a good ten years.

There is plenty of other interesting material in the article, but skipping right to the end reminds us of the undoubted motivation behind this policy: the large-scale dependency upon immigrant (especially Asian) votes in Labour-held constituencies.

As "up to 80% of ethnic minorities vote Labour", according to the article (and this is also well known by British political parties, by the way), Labour have a vested interest in promoting immigration to ensure favourable voting demographics. The story-I-cannot-tell that I have mentioned before, concerning a Labour immigration minister's activities at one of our immigration offices on the Indian sub-continent fits into the same category, by the way — and that's probably all I can safely say about that(!)

To quote from the last two paragraphs of the Sunday Timnes article, for clarity on what this means:

"There is the added difficulty that at least 20 Labour seats, including Jack (Straw’s), depend on Asian votes”.

With up to 80% of ethnic minorities voting Labour, it is obvious that the more immigrants who get the right to vote, the greater is Labour’s electoral share."

By now, regular readers will be well aware that I have long known that just about everything that Labour does is first and foremost in pursuance of their self-interest — either personally or for the party, generally both. All political parties are capable of this, and most if not all are guilty of the occasional, generally minor, instance of gerrymandering or otherwise tailoring policies to suit themselves. I suppose it is human nature, and the fear of loss of office to "them" in another party is a strong motivator to make those small tweaks as the lesser evil. Perhaps they're even right sometimes…

However, all of that pales almost into insignificance beside what Labour do. At least more and more of this is now coming out into the public arena, and a greater number of the voting public are waking up to the truth.

I've mentioned before how slow and hard-going it is to get people to realise that there really is a huge gulf between (essentially) how the Left and the Right behave and their attitudes. Neither is anywhere near perfect but their motivations are hugely different, even if both have to exist in the same world so sometimes they appear to be closer than they are in reality, as they have to face the same issues.

These documents do not seem to back-up the Neather claim about "rubbing the Right's nose in it", but the manipulation of "ethnic demographics" (to coin a term) to keep at least twenty Labour MPs including Jack Straw in their seats does come out of this quite clearly. That's the Labour way, so obvious from how Gordon Brown acts and reacts: the country doesn't matter, but the State (i.e. "us") is all — as in that German Nazi-era expression that I have read.

Of course, now the damage has been done, there is little that can be put in place to solve the resultant problems. All any incoming government will be able to do is to stem the tide: those already here are a fact, and are largely innocent pawns in Labour's political game.

We can cope with that, provided we don't give up our indigenous culture and laws to those from elsewhere. That way, Britain can survive — nowhere near as well as it would have been without this mass immigration over the past decade or so, but we can make it work, now we all know what was behind it all and realise who the biggest enemy of Britain is — Labour!

Yet another EU Directive:

[The Equal Treatment Directive] is common hate crime legislation, which will turn disapproval for Islamic practices or homosexual lifestyles into crimes. Europe’s Christian churches are trying to stop the plan of the European political establishment, but it is unclear whether they will be successful. The media are silent on the topic.

The directive applies to social protection and health care, social benefits, education and access to goods and services, including housing. American citizens and companies doing business in Europe are also required to adhere to it.  The directive’s definition of discriminatory harassment is so broad that every objection to Muslim or homosexual practices will be considered unlawful.

We Brits are such an offensive lot aren't we and the peace-loving minority must be protected from our 'propensity to violence & aggression'?  TM Jack Straw.  'We must be mad, truly mad.' TM Enoch Powell.

Is their really any point in all this?  I seem to remember a saying about a wise General knowing when to withdraw from the battle.

Another Fine Mess Gordon

The Attorney General Baroness Scotland has today been fined £5,000 for her employment of an illegal immigrant who overstayed on a student visa by five years.

The fine was for failing to keep copies of documents that The Baroness claims she checked to validate that the worker was legally entitled to work in the UK. No further action from the UK Border Agency or from The Prime Minister will follow.

The law that has been broken was advised upon by the Attorney General during its conception, as the AG acts as lawyer to the Government. In it, specific provisions were worded to ensure that employers keep copies of documents as failure to produce any documentation would not be a defence against the specific law. It is a long held standing in English Law that Ignorance of the law is not a defence against it, and all judges are held to apply this principle. There is no specific need to word such a provision really unless specific onus is required – so entrenched is the notion to law.

As such, to have an Attorney General now who advised and helped frame a law which included a provision that the onus of proof falls to the accused and that only the production of evidence showing pro-forma checks were made (in this case, photocopies of documents) to then fall foul of that law is breathtakingly incompetent for somebody of the Attorney Generals position. It is the Attorney General equivalent of wile e coyote strapping himself to an Acme missile in the pursuit of a blue feathered dinner only to go and blow himself up – Perhaps even more incompetent than that.

The whole situation has all of the hallmarks of a whitewash about it.

I say Whitewash because a £5,000 fine does not begin to resolve this little problem and yet again I think Gordon Brown has staggeringly underestimated the knock on effect this is going to have; yet seems to be a player in getting into the rush to investigation, fine, slap on the wrist, move along now, la la la we don’t care, we’re not listening chain of events that has come to pass in under a week.

I am upset, and I think you are too.

Firstly, The Attorney Generals position is just the latest of high offices in our Kingdom that has been besmirched by the appointment to that office of somebody capable of causing exceptional embarrassment to that post. It is just however the latest in a long line of appointments under this Labour Government; the frequency of scandals seems to have increased two-fold since Gordon Browns coronation. By simply flying off to the US to play World Statesman and by failing to sack Baroness Scotland, Brown has again, for the umpteenth time shown himself to be indecisive and completely unable to provide a Government of any talents, let alone of “all talents”. With crystal clarity the public gaze upon a man who yet again put his own and his party’s perceptions ahead of doing the right thing and acting in the best interests of this country. The moment the fine was issued the Prime Minister should have implemented the change, to which he would have already had lined up – that is what a leader would have done.

Secondly, the hiring of illegal immigrants is a known and frequently used tactic of employers to avoid paying minimum wage to employees. The minimum wage is the crown jewel in 12 years of Labour government, perhaps the only initative left that retains broad popularity and reminds all of us of the promise that we all felt of what was to come. There has been no word however if the Baroness was avoiding paying her worker minimum wage, which would be another offence, both under the law and in terms of holding a grand position within a government, no matter how discredited, to whom not only brought in the legislation for that minimum wage, but have and will rely upon its fair introduction as a campaigning point. Could Labour even mention minimum wage if their own AG was found to have ignored it?

It adds to the feeling over cover up that we are not informed one way or the other; could the Baroness still find herself in an embarrassing position on this?

Thirdly, when will it all end? I seem to repeat myself on this point over and over here on my blog (and VOTR) but for every single scandal, even today, Labour follows the same instincts, the same alienating formula of self preservation. Try to change the story, deny, attack others… get found out, try to hold on to high paying, high powered position… blame the Tories, stuff the voters, stuff doing “the right thing”, quick, get Rosa, Kevin and Polly to write about how nice we are and how the Tories will starve your babies to feed their butlers…. Anyone remember what the story was, no? Great, pass the expense forms.

This brings us onto the next point. Brown is trying to draw a line under this, but the Sunday Times has already revealed that Wile e coyote, er sorry, Baroness Scotland, has claimed £170,000 for an allowance paid to Lords who love outside of London, whilst living in Chiswick, which is in, er, London. I am guessing the Baroness did not photocopy those claim forms either before submitting them. Again, ignorance cannot be a defence against fraudulent claims. The Government should either swiftly investigate and publish the relevant paperwork or call the Serious Fraud Squad – which conveniently Baroness Scotland should have the phone number for given that in her role as Attorney General she has supervisory power over it. And of course, nobody bats an eyelid that someone with supervisory powers over the Serious Fraud Squad could be involved in a massive fraud themselves... that is just modern Britain.

Perhaps Gordon Brown could clear up whether he thinks this series of events have come about because the Attorney General is a crook, or because she is grossly incompetent, or is ita bit of both? If he could elaborate on that, whilst explaining why she still has a job I think a lot of people would be much clearer.

With Brown in charge there is no one to push these lunatics over, because he’s one of them. They will cling on, and he will until next year as clearly too many of Labour Parliamentary presence have too much to lose if Brown goes. They are fighting to save each other and their own jobs now. They’re alright, but what about the rest of us who live here?

When Labour polls in the mid twenty percent range I find it hard to believe there are still people in this country that can abide by such loose and questionable behaviour in our governing officials.

If Brown had of sacked the Baroness he would have legitimately got a bump in the polls for doing the right thing, and more than that for being seen to act decisively. This would have sent a warning to rebels ahead of the Conference, and may have wiped away some of the questions about a change of leadership. With a conference platform and feeling bold, Gordon Brown could have used the conference to spell out difference in Labour and Conservative policy and cuts – he could have regained at least some of the agenda and perhaps even put dents in Conservative plans for their conference. He would have acted positive and perhaps got a positive result.

Instead… well, you know the rest.

Britains Drug and Gun Culture.

The Tories are warning that Britain's streets are turning into scenes from the US TV show "The Wire". This is hardly news or a surprise to those of us who have lived in these sorts of areas. I was speaking to a friend from Luton over messenger last night and she has finally decided to move to the outskirts of town, as someone was shot directly outside her flat a few weeks ago and she is terrifed to go out, of even going to work.

Chris Grayling will blame Labour for standing by while "urban wars" break out in parts of the country. Of course, Labour are completely responsible for the situation in the first place. Violent crime in Britain has risen by 70% since labour came to power, Chris Grayling blames family breakdown and the benefits culture.

Ironically, in The New Statesman online today "the Home Office minister, Alan Campbell, rejected Grayling's charges and said that overall crime and drug use were down.

"Since 1997, crime has fallen by 36%. Overall drug use is at historically low levels and robust action is ensuring drugs are being taken off the streets," he said" - What planet does Mr Campbell live on? Why does this Labour government continue to treat us as though we are complete and utter morons? Why do they think Margaret Moran didn't live in Luton? It's a dangerous, nasty place to live that's why!

Labour are loving the melee, it gives them the reason they need to dictate to us via a corrupt Police Force who end up merely wasting time hounding innocent people whilst they put into motion the wheels of their totalitarian regime and continued nannying and nagging of the population to justify their existence!

If family breakdown and the benefits culture were the only reasons this is occuring, I would be very surprised. The majority of areas where violent crime is rife are our "diverse" cities and towns. The main reason for this is simple. Labour's mass multicultural social utopia experiment has failed. They have allowed migrants to solely occupy areas instead of ensuring integration into the main population. As each area is occupied by an ethnic group, ownership and a tribal need to defend their "turf" springs forth into minds that are devoid of the normal things in life, like a job!

It encourages ethnic and white extremism as each tribal group fights for superiority. You can say what you like, but at the end of the day, human beings always have and always will be tribal by nature, that is just the way things are! Look at American gang culture, it is driven by ethnicity. It should have been a lesson to our government, not a blueprint for multicultural success but multicultural mayhem!

Another friend of mine was warned to leave Luton a year or so back as she was told "Luton is muslim now, you don't belong here". That friend was born in Luton as were her parents and grandparents.

Uncontrolled migration has led to vast areas of unemployment which fuels the bored minds of restless people, who soon turn to crime in order to live the lifestyle that they expected when they arrived in the UK and which the credit culture has encouraged amongst others. The foreign gangs that Labour kindly let into the UK who deal with everything from forced prostitution (East Europeans), child slavery for benefits (East Europeans), Identity Fraud (Africans), drugs (just about everyone else) and money laundering ensures continous lucrative employment for the hapless, at the expense of those who simply wish to work and have a normal civilised life with their families.

It is time to get tough. The time has come to punish those who offend against ordinary people. This means deporting foreign criminals instead of housing them in our "luxury, playstation, sky tv, internet, choice of menu" prisons at the taxpayers expense.

It means putting the human rights of victims first before the terrorists, murderers and thieves. Our prisons would then have space for British citizens that break the law. It means controlling immigration properly and deporting illegal immigrants. It means putting an end to the benefit culture that draws them to our shores and has them queuing at Calais.

Manchester has recently topped the league in Britain for burglaries. It is catching up to London in overall crime figures. You would think that the Police would be patrolling the streets tirelessly to ease the crime rate. You would be wrong! Manchester Police have decided that the way to tackle their shameful, embarrassing crime figures is to set up nineteen dedicated "hate crime" centres.

Although, I agree combatting hate crime is important, I hardly think that being called a "Paki" even comes near to shooting, stabbing or rape in any normal persons mind.

Are the conservatives going to tackle the real roots of crime? I doubt it... most are just not aware of the real problems as they look out of their front windows in leafy commuter belt country! For those that know where the truth lies, they keep their mouths firmly shut for fear of being labelled racist.

The situation has become so serious, private security companies are booming and the Gurkhas have found a need for their skills guarding our children on their way to school.

A book by Christopher Caldwell entitled "Reflections on the revolution in Europe - Immigration, Islam and the West" is being hailed by the more honest of our politicians like Douglas Carswell. It outlines the dangers of ignoring the issue of uncontrolled immigration by the governments of the EU and the UK. Ed West has done a review on the book in "The Catholic Herald".

UPDATE : OH HAS CONFIRMED IT, SOME AREAS OF BRITAIN ARE INDEED WORSE THAN THE WIRE.
