What Has Europe... etc?

Surprise, surprise, there's some disquiet within the EU at the moment; I don't know how these muppets ever thought such a project would work.  For muppets read delusional and traitorous b@st@rds.

Poland isn't happy; the Czech Republic isn't happy; neither is Hungary nor Slovakia.  And those are just the governments.  Germany is squabbling with France over Sarkozy's proposal to create a designated EU humanitarian relief fund (The European Union Natural Disaster Rapid Relief Fund - EUNDRRF.  Is anyone managing to keep track of all these abbreviations?)

I think the only government not making waves at the moment is our own - perhaps Cameron, like Blair, sees himself as a future President.  Let's see what he does with the EU's proposal to raise the British contribution to their budget to £10.3bn by 2013.

EU Foreign Minister, Cathy Ashton, is to speak on behalf of the EU at the UN.  Apparently Cameron won a 'concession' here - she'll only be allowed to speak in the General Council and not the Security Council.  It always goes the same way - give a centimetre and they take a kilometre.

Speaking of kilometres, road pricing across Europe, "for the sake of the environment", seems to be on the cards but that shouldn't come as a surprise given the number of surveillance cameras already lining our roads.

I think I've already mentioned Italy's proposal to extend expulsion (aka deportation) to EU nationals as well as the Roma in France but it's worth repeating if only to draw attention to the way politicians play with words.

Scotland and Norway aren't too happy either.  They're threatening Iceland with legal action over mackerel fishing rights.

It pays to riot in the EU says Evans-Pritchard and I think he has a point. Ireland, which abided by the rules, is paying more for its borrowings than Greece, which did not.

Thanks to Open Europe for this link.  Five activists from the group Désobéissance Civile Belgique occupied a crane in the centre of Brussels to protest against the Lisbon Treaty, which they said "rejects the European member states and has been ratified without consulting the citizens". They attached a banner to the crane criticising the "antidemocratic movement" of the EU. They also argued that no referendum has been held on the euro and that EU President Herman Van Rompuy was elected without elections.  Good for them - that's five more up a crane in Brussels than there are in Great Britain.

Open Europe also reports that the EU wants to set up a database to fight "radicalisation", noting that it should target not just terrorists, but also the far left, the far right, and anti-globalisation activists

My eye and Betty Martin  "EU citizens favour stronger European economic governance. 75% of  Europeans are in favour of giving the EU a stronger role in the co-ordination of member states' economic and budgetary policies."

The German Constitutional Court has strengthened the ECJ and Lisbon Treaty.   "EU decisions may only be checked if European institutions seriously overstep their powers" .  I wonder what 'Common Purpose' is in German?

This looks promising:  86m euros and 750 'citizens'  could "launch a devastating cyber attack on the EU."     It's time to raid the piggy-bank, folks.

What Sort Of World Do We Live In?

It's a funny question I suppose, but one we'd all do well to keep asking ourselves.  Superficially we seem to live in a generally benign state where the government only wants what's best for us and most people are happy to accept that premise.  The government wants to help us and smooth life's difficulties with job-hunting, preventing homelessness, ensuring we eat our 5-a-day, lose weight, stop smoking and drinking, tide us over if we fall on hard times, cure us if we are ill and generally act as benefactor.  It says.

I've just caught up with this article which was published in Games Monitor while I was offline earlier this month.  It concerns security measures being taken for Olympics 2012 which include the construction of an 11 mile, 5,000 volt electric fence, topped  with 900 daylight & night vision surveillance cameras spaced at 55-yard  intervals.

"A new genre of military futurology has emerged which owes as much to  apocalyptic Hollywood movies as it does to the cold war tradition of  ‘scenario planning. Often outlandish and bizarre in its prophecies, and  always dystopian, this new military futurism sees threats to the western  way of life emanating not only from rogue states, weapons of mass  destruction and terrorism but also from resurgent nationalism, conflicts  over dwindling resources, migration, disease, organised crime, abrupt  climate change and the emergence of failed cities where social disorder is rife.

"Other security measures to be implemented for London 2012 will include facial and iris recognition, finger-print and hand recognition, guards with attack dogs and search dogs. New software is planned to integrate all of London's CCTV cameras, and will have the capability to follow you through the city. A scheme to search people and vehicles will include machines capable of looking through your clothing. The Air Force will deploy its Reaper pilot-less drone aircraft, which will carry laser-guided bombs and missiles including the Hellfire air-to-ground weapon. While on the Thames, the Royal Navy will deploy its new £1 billion Daring class Type 45 destroyer. These are also to be fitted with laser-guided missile systems able to shoot down a target the size of a cricket ball.

"The Olympic Act 2006, which sets out various laws relating to the Olympics, gives the right of forced entry into private property to remove unauthorised advertising or protest banners.  ... the right of forced entry is extended outside the police force to staff contracted to the ODA.

The London Olympics and its security does not exist in isolation but in a continuum of increasing state surveillance and security hysteria."

Are you feeling safer yet or can you feel the noose tightening?  When has any government voluntarily relinquished power and control once gained?  Oh, grandma, what big teeth you have!

What Sort Of World Do We Live In?

Enough With The Nudging Already!

MINDSPACE. That's a snappy little title for a report on influencing behaviour through public policy isn't it?

"Messenger: we are heavily influenced by who communicates information
Incentives: our responses to incentives are shaped by predictable mental shortcuts such as strongly avoiding losses
Norms: we are strongly influenced by what others do
Defaults: we "go with the flow" of pre-set options
Salience: our attention is drawn to what is novel and seems relevant to us
Priming: our acts are often influenced by sub-conscious cues
Affect: our emotional associations can powerfully shape our actions
Commitments: we seek to be consistent with our public promises, and reciprocate acts
Ego: we act in ways that make us feel better about ourselves"

When they say 'we', of course they don't mean themselves, they mean 'citizens, actors, stake-holders, the public': they mean 'they'.

Look at the man-boy in this explanatory video; he's one of the authors of the report. I can't comment on what he's saying, because the audio has now packed up, but I'm sure it's all very worthy and for the good of the cause.

I've had enough of these wet-behind-the-ears policy wonks being given taxpayers' money so they can devise more and better ways of making us conform to the government's ideal, monochrome, biddable citizen. And this is just one small report amongst hundreds; there are thousands of man-boys like Hallswood working throughout the EU and the UN - this one is just a tiny, tiny cog. So, what does that make us, the people they seek to control? Ants, that's what it makes us. Irrelevant, wrapped up in our little bubbles with plenty of soma to keep us busy; working hard to pay our bills, slightly niggled and discontented without the energy or time to question why.

I've had enough of being shaped and nudged. I've had enough of being told how to behave, what to do, where to go, what to eat, what to drink, what to think, what to say. If you ever think that getting an ID card is a good idea, ask yourself why. If you ever think that the world government's* stance on global warming is right, ask yourself why. If you ever think that you're not getting the representation in Parliament you voted for, ask yourself why. Question and challenge - every time.
*Yes, it's here already in all but name; it's just that we can't see the wood for the trees.

They're so sure of themselves it frightens me - they don't listen; they treat us like tax-fodder and worse than a parent would treat a child.  They fuck with our laws, they fuck with our sovereignty, they fuck with our heads.  Brown says he wants to look back on today from a hundred years hence and read about his place in history - I'd quite like that too.

Technocracy: the real aim of 'global warming'

Technocracy is the glue that binds the developments of globalisation. In short, it is the substituting of money with a new world currency known as carbon credits and will be a tool in the implementation of a world scientific dictatorship.

What does it mean? Subjugation. Total control.

Sounds very modern in concept, doesn’t it? In fact, these ideas date back to the 1930’s when hundreds of thousands of U.S. citizens were embracing a new political ideology called Technocracy and the promise it held for a better life. Even now-classic literature was heavily influenced by Technocracy: George Orwell’s 1984, H.G. Well’s The Shape of Things to Come and Huxley’s “scientific dictatorship” in Brave New World.

The social movement of Technocracy, with its energy-based accounting system, can be traced back to the 1930’s when an obscure group of engineers and scientists offered it as a solution to the Great Depression.

The principal scientist behind Technocracy was M. King Hubbert, a young geoscientist who would later (in 1948-1956) invent the now-famous Peak Oil Theory, also known as the Hubbert Peak Theory. Hubbert stated that the discovery of new energy reserves and their production would be outstripped by usage, thereby eventually causing economic and social havoc. Many modern followers of Peak Oil Theory believe that the 2007-2009 global recession was exacerbated in part by record oil prices that reflected validity of the theory.

Whither Cameron?

Who said: "We are now being told the British people are not capable of judging this issue – the government knows best; the top people are the only people who can understand it; it is too difficult for the rest. This is the classic argument of every tyranny in history. It begins as a refined intellectual argument, and it moves into a one-man dictatorship; 'We know best'
becomes 'I know best'."

No, it wasn't Carswell, Hannan, Redwood, Cash or other euro-sceptic;  it was said in 1962 by Hugh Gaitskell, Leader of the Labour Party in a speech to Party Conference though others have echoed his sentiments many times since then.

Gaitskell effectively scuppered McMillan's entry negotiations with his speech but Ted Heath lied to the British people in 1970: “If we can negotiate the right terms, we believe that it would be in the long-term interest of the British people for Britain to join the European Economic Community, and that it would make a major contribution to both the prosperity and the security of our country. The opportunities are immense. Economic growth and a higher standard of living would result from having a larger market ... A Conservative Government would not be prepared to recommend to Parliament, nor would Members of Parliament approve, a settlement which was unequal or unfair. In making this judgement, Ministers and Members will listen to the views of their constituents."

When I started this post it was going to be about Article 8A-4 of the Lisbon Treaty and ECJ Ruling 274/99 but then I stumbled across 1971 FCO 30/1048 (I bet you're all breathing a sigh of relief right now) which states: "The transfer of major executive responsibilities to the bureaucratic Commission in Brussels will exacerbate popular feeling of alienation from government. To counter this feeling, strengthened local and regional democratic processes… and effective Community regional economic and social policies will be essential… there would be a major responsibility on HM Government and on all political parties not to exacerbate public concern by attributing unpopular policies to the remote and unmanageable workings of the Community".

We have been systematically lied to, manipulated and betrayed.  Any politician in the current House of Commons must know this so, I ask again, whither Cameron?  He's already said that he wants the UK to be in the EU but not run by it; from what I've read on Euro-lex and other official EU sites, that isn't possible - he must realise that.  The EU is an undemocratic body; the Parliament was added as an afterthought and a sop to democracy.  The unelected Commission makes the laws, the ECJ upholds them and the elected Parliament nods them through, much like our own Parliament in Westminster.  Anyone who still thinks that our Parliament represents us is wrong; they do nothing but channel EU laws and examine their expenses.  They spend less time in session than ever before simply because they have precious little to do.  They are, in effect, overpaid social workers to their constituents in the Regions.

I came across this as well:

FRONTEX has an internal policing mandate and will soon preside over one of the world’s most extensive surveillance systems. This will be achieved through the interlinking of several existing EU databases and police communications systems and the creation of two new overarching surveillance frameworks (EUROSUR and EU entry-exit).

The EU is built on an out-moded concept which is now, to coin a phrase we know well, unfit for purpose.  It cannot last.

Regulation is heaped on Regulation in order to maintain some sort of structural integrity but there are weak points, the most notable one being that it sees people as counters and themselves as Greek Gods, untouchable high above the clouds, pushing little figures to and fro and guiding our lives.

G20: The truth behind the summit in Scotland

The Corbett Report interviewed Daniel Estulin, who revealed the behind-the-scenes details of the G20 Finance Minister's meeting in St. Andrews, Scotland in early November.

Details were derived from actual G20 documents that his sources sneaked out of the meetings, despite heavy, unprecedented security, "even by Bilderberg standards", according to Estulin. (See BilderbergBook.com).

Estulin says that the main topic of the summit was "the next step in globalisation, which is the creation of the African Union."

This is part of a continuous, long-planned agenda whereby national sovereignty is ceded to unnacountable regional governments which can more easily administer and implement the aims of the financial oligarchs.

One such aim is the elite's exhaustively documented penchant for population reduction, including tying development aid to population control problems. "The creation of the borderless African continent will be spearheaded by the IMF."

One of the smuggled documents shows that an attendee had the IMF articles of agreement at the meeting and highlighted the fact that funds were made available "under adequate safeguards" to member nations. This is code for imposing draconian measures designed to plunge countries into virtual servitude, with the result that in Africa, countries spend five times more revenue on servicing their IMF debts than they do on health care for their own citizens.

The meeting's attendees, identified in the smuggled documents, reads like a who's who of the financial oligarchical elite, including leading Bilderbergers such as US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, World Bank President Bob Zoellick, Turkish Finance Minister Ali Babacan and British Finance Minister Alistair Darling and many others. The Trilateral Commission was also represented at the conference by Japanese members Yoshihiko Noda and Masaaki Shirakawa.

In the interview, Estulin discusses the G20's debate on dumping the US dollar which he first revealed would be on the meeting's agenda in a press release in early November. Estulin indicates that while the matter was discussed, it was rejected . "The American and the British delegations tried to persuade the Russian and the Chinese delegates to devalue the dollar and create a basket of currencies or another world currency to take the place of the dollar," he said. "Luckily, both the Russians and the Chinese told the Americans and the British to go pound sand. They were not willing to do this."

The notion that Western financial oligarchs are aiming to dump the US dollar is in keeping with recent reports that Goldman Sachs (whose members are suspiciously well connected to the upper echelons of the US Treasury) actually took up short positions on the housing market - just before the crash. Although a pre-meditated attempt to bring about a financial collapse would appear not to be in the financial oligarch's self-interest, it makes perfect sense when one considers this as a problem-reaction-solution operation - creating a problem in order to get the public to support a pre-determined solution.

Here, the endgame is to use a financial collapse to usher in a New World Order. Now, exactly as predicted, everyone from Kissinger to Soros is using the economic collapse to call for a new financial order of greater international (read: unelected, undemocratic and unaccountable) control over world financial markets.

As the G20 was drawing to a close, talking heads like Damon Vickers began inserting talking points about a new global currency and a "New World Order" onto CNBC. While the dumping of the dollar failed to gain traction at this meeting, this will continue to be pursued by the influential globalist financiers.

Canadian Finance Minister Jim Flaherty made a show of standing up for the people of the planet by noting that "the recent public policy of privatizing profits and socializing losses is unacceptable to taxpayers," to which someone responded "Do you think they have noticed?" The response provoked laughter from the assembled oligarchs.

Mr. Estulin has a message for the G20 oligarchs: "Gentlemen of the G20, in case you're wondering: Yes, we the great unwashed have definitely noticed."

Climate Change Treaty: Glenn Beck interviews Lord Monckton

On 19th October 2009, just ahead of the US government signing the UN's Climate Change Treaty, Glenn Beck interviewed Lord Monckton who is visiting America in an effort to stop the treaty in its tracks.

As Monckton eloquently explains, the treaty is designed to herald in World Communism, lately touted as World Government, on the back of the global warming scam.

Every nation that signs it will thereby cede its sovereignty to the UN while wealth passes from the 'rich' nations to the 'developing' nations.

One assumes that one of the developing nations feeling hard done by is China, given that it thinks we've had an unfair head start on it.  Never mind that without the West's technical know-how, bestowed upon it by the US and Europe, it would still be in the dark ages.

The Coming Of Shadows

Mrs Elvis is not particularly interested in politics, and who could blame her? She has me to live with after all.

But a very peculiar thing happened in the Paisley household last evening. Whilst watching the enthralling Murderland, we were, once again, subjected to the overly political scaremongering advert for Act On CO2. You know the one, where the puppy drowns? Yes, that one.

Now I've occasionally spoken out on these things much to Mrs Elvis's bemusement, who is the sort of person that tries to see the good in everyone. Her nature is such that if her own worst enemy came begging at the door, she wouldn't turn them away, but would offer them any and all assistance she could. She is the original good samaritan.

So it came as a great surprise to me last night that Mrs Elvis turned to me in disgust after the advert had reached it's conclusion and commented that there is something deeply wrong in our country and the way we are being brow-beaten by the forces that be. The penny is finally starting to drop. And if Mrs Elvis is now becoming aware of the coming darkness, then there is no doubt in my mind that we really are in trouble.

You only have to look at today's Telegraph to get an idea of just how bad things are going to get if we continue on our current path. We have the ISA expanding on it's original mission statement to sow real seeds of doubt and mistrust in the minds of anyone who has not been 'vetted' to see if they're safe to work with children. And Lord Stern is calling on people to eat less meat to help with climate con change. In the Mail we find that there has been a large increase in the number of middle-aged people being criminalised for petty offences, whilst in the same paper we read of a leading Labout think-tank who airbrushed links between immigration and crime in a PIU report issued in 2001. I could go on...

On top of that we have the Lisbon Treaty and the probable ascendency of Tony Blair to the role of EU President. Need I say more?

With each remaining day of this morally bankrupt and treacherous government, we fall further and further into the darkness. It has now become increasingly clear that the 'agents of change' amongst us have ramped up their operations to do as much damage to our country as is possible in what could be their last remaining months.

Of course, that's assuming we will have an election come May next year. Many of us still have doubts on whether this will take place or not. I believe it is no coincidence that the Met police are arming their officers with Heckler & Koch submachine guns for supposedly 'routine' patrols in gangland hotspots in central London. This is not what our police are there to do. Nor are they there to create databases of 'domestic extremists' under the instructions of the Association of Chief Police Officers, a private company with no mandate from the public whatsoever.

No, we are seeing the last desperate throes of democracy as we knew it in this once great country of ours. We are being spied upon, catalogued, assessed, and brow-beaten in the very real hope that by the time the shadows make their move, there will be no fight left in us. But they are wrong. The British people have a genetic hatred for dictators and their followers. To paraphrase the words of a very wise Narn;

"No dictator, no invader, can hold an imprisoned population by the force of arms forever. There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. Against that power governments, and tyrants, and armies can not stand. The Centauri learned this lesson once. We will teach it to them again. Though it take a thousand years, we will be free."

New Franco-German Axis

Hot on the heels of Tuesday's news that the Lisbon Treaty will be implemented no matter what the outcome of the Irish referendum comes the news that France & Germany have agreed a secret accord. The drive is towards a two-tier EU and there's the possibility of a reciprocal placing of Ministers in their Cabinets (imagine a German or French Minister sitting in Brown's Cabinet!)

Joschka Fischer, a former German Foreign Minister, said the Franco-German axis  had to come into its own again whatever the fate of the Lisbon treaty: “The centre of gravity of Europe can only be Paris and Berlin.”

Sarkozy withdrew his backing for Blair as President of the EU some months ago but it now seems to be official.  The front-runners being considered are Felipe González, the former Socialist Prime Minister of Spain, and Jean-Claude Juncker, Prime Minister of Luxembourg.

“Tony Blair is a man of the past and the United Kingdom is no longer any model,” said a French diplomat.

It's disingenuous of them to pretend that there are no EU Ambassadors or EU Embassies in place already.  Many of the provisions of the Lisbon Treaty are already in existence, being undertaken covertly so that once the treaty is formally ratified the project can be unleashed.

Ah, les Anglo-Saxons!  Constantly screwing up the German-France axis since 1939.  De Gaulle should have stuck to his principles and not allowed himself to be sweet-talked by Heath's entreaties.

The only correct British response should be: "Cry havoc!  And let slip the dogs of war.   Do your worst."

UPDATE: I forgot to link this: Jose Manuel Barroso has warned that there will be no EU Commissioner for the Czechs unless they ratify Lisbon. Any nation with an ounce of self-respect would tell the EU what to do with its threats, and I include Britain in that.  It's a disgrace that we have to look to Ireland, the Czech Republic, & Poland instead of having our own Referendum.

Move Along, Nothing To See

Some days I don't know why I bother. In common with other bloggers I come across snippets of news that will have a profound effect on all our lives and yet they're not being taken up and debated in the msm, in fact not mentioned at all. It's impossible to fight something which is cloaked in lies; it's like fighting a will-o'-the-wisp, a Scotch Mist or a shape-shifting alien.

The latest is INDECT (Intelligent information system supporting observation, searching and detection for security of citizens in urban environment - yes, really!) The scope of this project reveals growing governmental preference for systems capable of locking people up not for what they have done, but for what they might do. This ties in with yesterday's post on ISIS, the previous posts on the EU & the NWO plus the leaked EUISS Report also has something to say about it. (These boys do like their acronyms don't they? I've got another one for them: SNAFU).

Open Europe has been reviewing projects currently in receipt of EU funding. They've identified INDECT as having potentially far-reaching effects for anyone living or working in Europe. The main objectives of this project, according to its own website, are:

To develop a platform for: the registration and exchange of operational data, acquisition of multimedia content, intelligent processing of all information and automatic detection of threats and recognition of abnormal behaviour or violence, to develop the prototype of an integrated, network-centric system supporting the operational activities of police officers.

In addition, it aims "to develop a set of techniques supporting surveillance of internet resources, analysis of the acquired information, and detection of criminal activities and threats."

There are two controversial aspects to this research. First is the extent of data collection and second is the proposition that law enforcement agencies will in future be able to model potentially criminal and anti-social behaviour and therefore focus on individuals before crimes are committed.

It's all very similar to another EU-sponsored piece of research, ADABTS (Automatic Detection of Abnormal Behaviour and Threats in crowded Spaces). According to the website it "aims to develop models for abnormal and threat behaviours and algorithms for automatic detection of such behaviours as well as deviations from normal behaviour in surveillance data."

Brilliant! The idiosyncracies of human behaviour are to be reduced to algorithms and monitored by computers. Suddenly, the small steps are combining and becoming 'a giant leap for mankind'.

Sometimes I feel as if I don't exist at all except as a blip or a statistic in someone's in-tray, to be dealt with when they've finished their tea & biscuits, but this leaked document from the EUISS makes it clear that it's up close and personal:

'What Ambitions for European Defence in 2020?'

From the foreword:

"Let it be stressed again that the distinctiveness of the European Union greatly depends on its sustained preference for soft power instruments, for persuasion rather than force. Deviation from this rule, in particular when confronting non-military, non-security challenges of a ‘societal’ nature, be they social, economic, energy or environment-related, would kill European distinctiveness altogether. Reliance on hard power to meet ‘soft’ challenges – a rough equivalent of ‘disproportionate response’ – would not only be inconsistent with the lessons learnt from the European experience, but a sure recipe for alienating partners and pushing the goal of global governance well out of reach."

 This leaked 175-page .pdf was produced by the EU Institute for Security Studies, an EU policy think-tank. It covers long term EU security strategy, including the problems of hierarchical class society, with the elite of the world on one side, and the so-called 'bottom billion' on the other.

To avoid "global systemic collapse", the document suggests that the "full spectrum of high intensity combat" be used to protect what is called "globalisers" from "localisers". Localisers, (making up 80% of the world population) include the "bottom billion", states in the Middle East and the so-called "Alienated Modern States" like North Korea. Globalisers include not only members of the OECD and "Rapid Transition Societies" like China and Brazil, but also "Transnational Corporations"—the "Fortune Global 1000".

The paper discusses "barrier operations shielding the global rich from the tensions and problems of the poor". "As the ratio of the world population living in misery and frustration will remain massive, the tensions and spillover between their world and that of the rich will continue to grow. As we are unlikely to have solved this problem at its root by 2020 - i.e. by curing dysfunctional societies, we will need to strengthen our barriers. It is a morally distasteful, losing strategy, but will be unavoidable if we cannot solve the problems at their root."

Excuse me while I pinch myself to see if I'm really here. Two things seem certain in all this: (1) our views, our votes, don't count, and (2) the past 13yrs of Labour's authoritarian legislation are merely stepping stones.

The European Union has long been angling for control of banking and financial centres and it's no secret that it would rather see Frankfurt or Paris more pivotal than London.  (Check out previous posts tagged 'Frankfurt').

Draft legislation published today gives more details of a 'banking super watchdog'.  If agreed, it will be implemented next year.  There is talk of a 'local watchdog' and 'local supervisor' so, for Britain, I assume that would mean our Bank of England.

The draft laws, which is the result of an agreement thrashed out by EU leaders earlier this year, also threaten to erode the authority of Britain, which is fighting to keep control over the centrepiece of its economy, the City of London.
The new European watchdog is given the power to order national supervisors to take specific action, in the draft. It leaves it up to the European Commission or EU executive to decide when they should be allowed overrule the local watchdog.
The draft law also allows the banking super-watchdog to intervene with individual banks if, for example, the local supervisor does nothing, EU officials wrote in the document.

As I've said before, the current trend towards devolution and localism is all very well but fits in too well with the EU's own blueprint for a new supranational state.  Once this legislation goes through, as it will, expect it to be closely followed by the Euro (with designs decided at 'local' level, of course).  Like it or not, we're in it up to our necks.
